Participation is geared for college students enrolled in the current calendar year. The ideal participants would be in the following degree programs:
Computer Science
Computer Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Computer Security
UAS Design and/or Maintenance (not flight)
Students will need to provide a professor’s contact information to be used as a reference on the registration form. Also, once registered, students will need to complete a technical challenge that will be emailed to them.
As funding allows, registration for the 2025 UAS Hack will occur in late spring of 2025. Check the website for updates.
Not everyone who registers will be chosen to participate. Once the Can You Hack It® challenges are completed by those registered, challenge results will be reviewed and the final participants will be selected and notified. Participants will be notified by the end of June of their acceptance.
There is no cost to register or participate. Participants will book their own travel (based on guidance provided by UAS Hack) and will be reimbursed. The hotel cost will be covered and meals while at UAS Hack will be provided.
Monday will be a welcome and introduction with interactive lectures and activities. Tuesday will interactive lectures, followed by the hands on ‘hacking’ and assessments on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday with be student team briefs and awards, followed by a ribbon cutting for the ORION facility.
Breakfast and lunch on the days of UAS Hack will be provided; participants are responsible for their own meals outside of those hours.
All participants will sign a non-disclosure agreement and this will be signed on the first day of UAS Hack.
